Got XLINK all set up good, in that I'm reachable, people can see my ping, ports forwarded correctly, the only problem is it cant find my ps2, I seem to be able to narrow it down to is that you only enter the last four digits of my MAC code into you IP generator, so if my first eight are not in the generator somewhere the PS2 emulator I guess wont be pointing to the correct IP address it needs to connect to.

Yes that is correct, the pcsx2 one, it has a plugin that allows it to think it has a virtual ps2 network adapter, this plug in does this via a program called winpcap.
